The Mauricie Mycological Sector, the forest edibles development arm of the Mauricie Wood Producers Union , and Truffes Québec have developed the first regional partnership for the development of truffle farming in Quebec. Together, we inform, advise, and support forest owners and agricultural producers in establishing truffle fields.
The Lavi-Eau-Champ Agro-Environmental Advisory Club is joining forces with the duo to address the agronomic aspects of the planting operations, which will be carried out in close collaboration with Jérôme Quirion, our truffle cultivation expert .
the role of the sector
The main role of the Mauricie Mycological Sector is to initiate, stimulate and facilitate exchanges between individuals, organizations, businesses and regional development organizations, linked to the sectors of activity represented on the Mycological Sector Table, and then to support them in order to sustainably structure the development of forest mushrooms in Mauricie.
The Sector exists to facilitate the development of forest mushrooms in a sustainable manner and in order to create a strong regional economy based on profitability models.
