November 10 , 2022 – Truffles arrive in Mauricie!
Truffes Québec and the Mauricie Mycological Sector are investing $200,000 to create three truffle orchards, notably in Saint-Élie-de-Caxton.
The climate and soil of the region are perfect for growing the Appalachian truffle, a local truffle discovered and cultivated by Jérôme Quirion.
The goal is to make Mauricie a region known for truffles, both in cooking and tourism, with visits and activities centered around truffles.
